The Bestselling Books of the Week, According to All the Lists
⚓ Books 📅 2026-01-15 👤 surdeus 👁️ 1Welcome to another day in bestselling books! The theatrical release of the adaptation of The Housemaid continues to give the Frieda McFadden title a boost in the charts, making it the only title to top all five of the bestseller lists again. Speaking of adaptations, The Heated Rivalry craze continues, with not one, but three books in the Game Changer series making it to four bestseller lists this week, two of them for the first time. The seventh book in the series will hit shelves this year and will surely make an appearance here—stay tuned.
Also new to the list this week is Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman, a popular LitRPG series about a man named (you guessed it) Carl and his ex-girlfriend’s cat, Princess Donut, who are trying to survive a deadly, intergalactic game show. It was first published back in 2024 and is likely getting a boost from its recent paperback release and selection for the Barnes & Noble Book Club.
This list continues to lack of diversity on many levels, including being disproportionately by white authors. Some Indie Bestsellers you should know about are Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer, One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This by Omar El Akkad, and The Loneliness of Sonia and Sunny by Kiran Desai.
To get these numbers, we look at the New York Times, both Combined Print & E-Book Fiction and Combined Print & E-Book Nonfiction lists; Amazon Charts, both Fiction and Nonfiction; Publishers Weekly; USA Today; and Indie Bestsellers, Fiction and Nonfiction, both Paperback and Hardcover.
