Romance is having a perpetual moment. The Heated Rivalry train shows no signs of stopping. It’s the latest in a series of beloved romance adaptations, and readers are always hungry for more. If you’re starting from zero and want to see what’s out there currently (as well as reading classic romances), every month is a new opportunity. For more seasoned readers, there are plenty of plots, settings, and tropes to satisfy all types of readers.

Though the romance train is always chugging along, the month of Valentine’s Day is a fun time for a romance author’s book to come out. Alongside Black History Month, romance is in the air. It’s an exciting month to both challenge yourself to read more diversely and dive into the joyful escapism of romance novels. This month, there’s a fun mix between sports-adjacent stories, contemporary novels, and historical fun.

In this “cheeky hockey novella,” the sparks between these two men become impossible to deny.
