There are several new additions to the bestseller lists this week, including Twelve Months by Jim Butcher, the first new Dresden Files book in six years. Another highly anticipated release is Half His Age by Jennette McCurdy, McCurdy’s first foray into fiction, following the massive success of her memoir I’m Glad My Mom Died.

The most disturbing book to see on this list, though, is The Invisible Coup by Peter Schweizer, senior editor-at-large of Breitbart News, a notoriously extremist far-right media organization. The book stokes fears of a conspiracy of mass immigration of dangerous criminals, framing ICE as the heroes. It’s hard to imagine a more divorced from reality reaction to the actions of ICE agents right now, and the fact that people are buying into this conspiracy is horrifying. To help those in Minnesota being impacted by ICE raids, check out Stand With Minnesota, and use 5 Calls to contact your local representatives—they provide the relevant phone numbers and scripts.

This list continues to lack of diversity on many levels, including being disproportionately by white authors. Some Indie Bestsellers you should know about are The Loneliness of Sonia and Sunny by Kiran Desai, One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This by Omar El Akkad, and The Serviceberry by Robin Wall Kimmerer.

To get these numbers, we look at the New York Times, both Combined Print & E-Book Fiction and Combined Print & E-Book Nonfiction lists; Amazon Charts, both Fiction and Nonfiction; Publishers Weekly; USA Today; and Indie Bestsellers, Fiction and Nonfiction, both Paperback and Hardcover.
