- Beloved artist and colorist Tatjana Wood, best known for her work at DC Comics, passed away at the very respectable age of 99.
- Warner Bros is getting a mite cranky about Chinese company ByteDance yoinking its iconic superhero characters so that any schmo with a social media account can post IP-infringing videos of Superman, Batman, et. al.
- Marvel has changed how they credit colorists, moving over to the term “color artist” to better reflect the vast amount of work these folks do in creating the final look of the comics we all love.
- DC’s revived Vertigo imprint is selling like gangbusters.
- The Lanterns teaser trailer dropped.
- The new Wolverine game for PlayStation will be available in September of this year.
- The Smithsonian has acquired copies of two of the most famous comics ever printed: Action Comics #1 and Captain America Comics #1.
- Sony has announced that they are not done with their spin-off Spider-flicks, despite flops like Madame Web and Kraven the Hunter.
- In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, actor Isabel May discussed how she almost played Jayna, one half of the Wonder Twins, for the DC Extended Universe.

News From the Wider Comics World
- Streaming services HBO Max and Paramount+ will be merging into a single service in light of the merger between their parent companies. Why is this comic book news? Because Max is where DC’s TV shows and movies live, and Paramount+ has the latest iteration of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and other nerdy properties, like Star Trek. I guess there totally are upsides to monopolies after all. Take that, Teddy Roosevelt.
- Mike Richardson has been ousted as CEO of Dark Horse. However you feel about him, the manner in which he was dismissed doesn’t exactly fill me with warm fuzzy feelings about Dark Horse’s long-term future.
- If you have a few thousand dollars to burn — and who among us doesn’t? — head on over to Christie’s one week from today and bid on some historic Japanese art, including vintage manga.
- The Comics Journal did a piece on legendary manga artist Hisashi Eguchi, who was embroiled in a tracing controversy late last year.
- The Angoulême International Comics Festival was cancelled due to the owner’s alleged misconduct back in December, and now said owner is filing legal actions for lost compensation and to try to stop efforts to hold a replacement event.

- The DC Art of Bruno Redondo Kickstarter campaign is open until March 20. A recently-announced add-on associated with the campaign: an exclusive collection of Redondo’s Nightwing covers. And who couldn’t do with more Nightwing in their lives?
- Also closing on March 20 is a Kickstarter campaign for two titles by Jonathan Djob Nkondo, known for his work on the animated series Scavengers Reign.
