14 New July Romance Releases for the Hottest Month of the Year
⚓ Books 📅 2026-07-06 👤 surdeus 👁️ 1A new month means a new list of releases out this month, and as usual, we’ve got some bangers. There will never be a month when we don’t have just…an amazing list of romance novels coming out, either by authors whose books are like familiar hugs or ones that are new to me, but I’m very excited to read. And since I can’t tell you every book coming out, or even every book that I’m excited is coming out, please pour out a cold one for the agony that I endured for several days as I went through round after round of making this list a navigable one.
July is chock full of exciting romance novels, from beginning to end. We’ve got a new series coming from Kresley Cole, Chelsea Curto’s first traditionally published romance, and exciting standalones from Christina Lauren and Julie Murphy. We have the start of a whole series of books that were written as “AU” versions of a story based on a prompt. We’ve got everything from lightly supernatural to romantasy inspired by Chinese mythology. Queer athletes and academics headline the contemporary genre while other folks are falling through time and into mystery novels, and sometimes off actual balconies (don’t worry, the Grim Reaper saves that one. It’s a whole thing.). A lot of laughter in this list, but also a few authors who you know are going to make you sob. But they’re all promising to hit that perfect blend of feelings and smiles that a new romance can always bring you.
Every Version of You by Natalie MessierThey said time travel and I came running. Invoking serious 13 Going on 30 vibes, this book takes a look at an overworked lawyer who has been pining after her best friend for years (and snarking at his other best friend for just as many). But when she dies after a dinner party that might have made all the difference, she wakes up back in college, with a second chance at landing the love of her life. Who that ends up being? Well, we know, but does she? (Also, if you’re looking for more timey wimey stuff this month, check out Amy Tordoff’s All We Have is Time.) |
Northeast of Eden by Alex La BruyereIn this entry in the Pride in Pine Grove multi-author interconnected series, Pen is everyone in town’s favorite drag king. A one-night stand with a gorgeous woman leaves her thinking of a potential future, but she’s afraid ot someone new breaking both her heart and her spirit. |
The Luckiest Lady in London by Sherry ThomasI don’t usually cover rereleases On Main but first: LOOK at this cover. The original mass market cover from 2013 is, of course, a feast for the senses, but this one invokes a bit more of the storytelling that some of the best new illustrated/painted covers do. Second: Sherry Thomas’s London Trilogy is one of the greatest collections of historical romances ever written. And this one? The first one? Prepare for the bitterest, angstiest couple you’ve ever encountered and still rooted for their happy ending. |
Big Trouble in a Little Mafia by Tanvier PeartThis newest entry into the Dark Rom Com family features Bianca, an HR manager who decides to quit her job and move back to Baltimore to regroup, only to be kidnapped when she gets a housesitting job in Sicily. But she’s not taking anything lightly, and ends up in a marriage of convenience with a hot mob boss. Tanvier Peart’s books are a laugh a minute, and this one promises to provide the same irreverent hilarity. |
Home Court Advantage by Kimani MaeCollege rivals Nola and Brittney have taken their rivalry to the big leagues, but everything they’ve done to one-up each other over the years crashes and burns when they both end up playing for a new team…with each other. That years-long rivalry might have been fully sincere, but it might have also been hiding a chemistry that their new forced proximity can’t cover up anymore. |
Just a Highland Fling by Naina KumarWhen Neelu makes the decision to make an appearance at her estranged father’s wedding in Scotland, she doesn’t intend to accidentally drive her future stepmother away before the wedding actually happens. When she agrees to help her father retrieve his fiancée, the pair is joined by Jacob, the hot bagpiper Neelu very recently had a one-night stand with. A road trip through Scotland to Skye with your father who you don’t really know and a hot poet you know biblically sounds like a heck of a time, doesn’t it? |
Dominion by Jean KwokThe first in a new series, Dominion introduces us to Rubi, a young woman who has little to speak of in terms of magic in a world where magic is the biggest currency. When she catches the eye of a powerful leader in a different dominion after hurting one of his faction, he sends her into a brutal trial that leaves some partnered with tygers and some slaughtered. When she emerges selected, the world changes for her overnight, and becomes even darker than she knew. |

And it turns out the person who’s trying to present it as the real deal is that same terrible ex. |
Die for Me by Shirlene ObuobiShirlene Obuobi’s first paranormal romance continues her practice of bringing us complicated Black medical professionals who are solid in their professional lives but still in search of the personal life they deserve, but…well, we also have potentially supernatural creatures this time. Sean is a cardiologist still dealing with the trauma of a past abusive relationship, and she doesn’t have time or much interest in pursuing a relationship, especially with a younger man. But when she meets Julian at a wedding, the fall is immediate and unstoppable. |
A Lady’s Guide to Subterfuge and Science by Isabella KamalWhen Kalila Darwish decides to travel to London and impersonate her male cousin in order to get an in with the Society of Microscopic Biology, her intention is to sway the Society on including women with her own intellect via lectures. But Oliver, a member of the society who is pretty sure this person presenting summer lectures was not born a man, and is pretty sure he knows exactly who she is. But will a chance to work together help or hinder any potential relationship they might pursue? |
A Date With Death by Kelly CreaghSo there’s a children’s librarian. She’s having an awful night at this Halloween party, but this very quiet person in a Grim Reaper costume is patiently listening to her grievances. And then to make it all worse, she tumbles off a balcony—only to be caught by said Grim Reaper…who definitely doesn’t have any human flesh. That Grim Reaper? Totally real. But instead of actually reaping the person he was supposed to, he saved her life instead. No good. Catching feelings is definitely something Grim Reapers are supposed to do. |
If Books Could Kill by Kate EberleWhat would you do if you were suddenly the protagonist of your favorite author’s next book? If she was a romance author, you’d probably be delighted, yes? But what if said romance author decided to start writing crime novels? That’s just the thing that happens to Roxie when she makes a wish and finds herself in what she thinks is the perfect meet cute. At least until the guy tries to kill her. |

When Octavia buys Elmwood Ranch, she’s looking forward to settling down. But when unexplainable things start happening and her ranch hands refuse to come back to work, she has to rely on paranormal investigator Rae Jones. |
Running on Empty by Leigh HaysA Sapphic NASCAR romance? Say less! Beckett is a driver who, despite countless wins, can’t seem to land a championship. The rut she’s stuck in doesn’t account for Ava Broussard, who’s recently taken over the team in an effort to get back at her family after her father hands the reins for their team to her younger brother instead of her. Ava and Beckett have fiery chemistry from the start, but their working relationship should take precedent over anything they might want to pursue outside of it. |
If you’re interested in falling further into the new release rabbit hole, there are plenty more where this came from. HM Wolfe and Talia Hibbert both have traditional releases of their previously self-pubbed books, and Jennifer K. Lambert and Sarah Beth Durst have new books in their current series. For some reason, The Dare is being released now that both volumes of The Losers are already out, even though you should really read that one first. And of course, there are so many other books coming out this month. Try the New Release Index in All Access to keep track of your most anticipated ones!
