It’s almost fall, which means it’s time to get excited about all the great queer books coming our way. I’ve been talking about a lot of sapphic books recently, so let’s give some love to the M/M romances coming up this season. This isn’t a complete list, of course! These are five of the most exciting M/M romances out in September, October, and November. They include YA and adult novels, a Halloween holiday romance and a Christmas holiday romance, a story about fake dating the Prince of Hell (literally), and more, all from some of the most beloved authors in the M/M romance genre.

It Had to Be Him cover

It Had to Be Him by Adib Khorram (September 2)

From the author of Darius the Great Is Not Okay and I’ll Have What He’s Having comes a swoony second-chance travel romance. After a humiliating breakup, Ramin treats himself to a solo vacation to Italy. Meanwhile, Noah has been convinced by his ex-wife to tag along on a trip with her and their son to finally get him out of his rut. There, he bumps into Ramin, his high school crush—not that he understood it that way then. The two immediately hit it off, but can their relationship survive reality, or is it only made possible by the glow of a romantic destination?

You’ve Goth My Heart cover

Youve Goth My Heart by L.C. Rosen (September 9)

Halloween people, this one is for you. When Gray starts texting with a mystery guy, he thinks this is his opportunity to get the goth boyfriend of his dreams. They’re set to meet at the Halloween party, but things are made more complicated when Gray’s closeted ex reappears and, oh yeah, there’s maybe a serial killer on the loose targeting gay teens. This promises to be a “blood-curdlingly spooky and darkly funny romance” for fans of Wednesday and Heartstopper.

Cut to the Feeling cover

Cut to the Feeling by M.A. Wardell and A.J. Truman (September 30)

Bryce is a plus-sized Broadway dancer who is left in a precarious living situation when his ex sublets his apartment without warning. He (and his dog) won’t give up without a fight, though, so Emerson moves in to find them still living there. The tiny NYC apartment is crowded, and at first Bryce isn’t a fan of his new grumpy professor roommate, but those feelings transform while dancing on the rooftop together. M.A. Wardell fans will also be excited for Husband of the Year, the fourth book in the Teachers in Love series, coming out November 18!

A Mannequin for Christmas cover

A Mannequin for Christmas by Timothy Janovsky (September 30)

If you marathon Christmas movies every year—including ones like A Mom for Christmas—you need pick up this newest romance from the author of You’re a Mean One, Matthew Prince. Henry Aster doesn’t want to spend another holiday season alone and wishes for The Perfect Man. He wasn’t expecting that wish to come in the form of a department mannequin who has come to life and needs to be taught how to be human, but he’ll take it. If Aiden doesn’t experience true love by midnight on New Year’s Eve, though, he’ll turn back into a mannequin.

My Roommate From Hell cover

My Roommate From Hell by Cale Dietrich (November 11)

Owen has a plan for college. He’s not here to have fun. He’s here to secure a good job that will set him up for a prosperous life. Unluckily for him, he’s arrived during the first hell/Earth exchange program, and his roommate is the literal prince of hell, Zar. Zar is just here to have fun, including bringing a rotating cast of guys to their room, throwing parties, and setting furniture on fire. They reach a mutually beneficial agreement, though: they will fake date and Owen will teach Zar how to act human. In exchange, Zar will set Owen up with a life-changing internship. Aiden Thomas calls this a “hilarious and charming descent into love, fake dating, and actual Hell. I couldn’t stop grinning.”
