This week’s round up of bestsellers is a mix of content, that’s for sure. The only title on all five of the bestseller lists is Kamala Harris’s memoir about her 107-day run for office. But another one of the bestselling nonfiction titles this week is Eric Trump’s book about his father’s presidency.

Oh, and here’s a question: is a book about the 1929 stock market crash hitting the bestseller list a recession indicator?

The new fiction entries on this list are their own kind of unique. They’re both pairings of bestselling authors and celebrities, including the Mad Libs-style pairing of Nicholas Sparks and M. Night Shyamalan as well as Harlan Coben and Reese Witherspoon.

This list continues to lack of diversity on many levels, including being disproportionately by white authors. Some Indie Bestsellers you should know about are The Loneliness of Sonia and Sunny by Kiran Desai, A Guardian and a Thief by Megha Majumdar, and We Survived the Night by Julian Brave NoiseCat.

To get these numbers, we look at the New York Times, both Combined Print & E-Book Fiction and Combined Print & E-Book Nonfiction lists; Amazon Charts, both Fiction and Nonfiction; Publishers Weekly; USA Today; and Indie Bestsellers, Fiction and Nonfiction, both Paperback and Hardcover.
