The Bestselling Books of the Week, According to All the Lists
⚓ Books 📅 2025-12-04 👤 surdeus 👁️ 3This week has a handful of titles hitting the bestseller round-up for the first time, including the only book in the top ten of all of the big bestseller lists: Brimstone (Fae & Alchemy #2) by Callie Hart. I also think it’s worth noting that there are two kids’ books on the list this week: Big Jim Believes (Dog Man #14) by Dav Pilkey and Partypooper (Diary of a Wimpy Kid #20) by Jeff Kinney, two of the biggest names in the kidlit space. Children’s books don’t usually make it onto this feature because they’re separated into their own lists by The New York Times and the Indie Bestsellers list, so they’re at a disadvantage. It’s easy to underestimate just how big of a chunk of the market children’s books are: the Dog Man series has sold 60 million books!
This list continues to lack of diversity on many levels, including being disproportionately by white authors. Some Indie Bestsellers you should know about are The Loneliness of Sonia and Sunny by Kiran Desai, Martyr! by Kaveh Akbar, Simply More: A Book for Anyone Who Has Been Told They’re Too Much by Cynthia Erivo, and The Serviceberry by Robin Wall Kimmerer.
To get these numbers, we look at the New York Times, both Combined Print & E-Book Fiction and Combined Print & E-Book Nonfiction lists; Amazon Charts, both Fiction and Nonfiction; Publishers Weekly; USA Today; and Indie Bestsellers, Fiction and Nonfiction, both Paperback and Hardcover.
