We have a long list of bestsellers for you this week, but none of these books are appearing here for the first time. That’s not a surprise: December is a big book-buying month, but it’s the slowest time in publishing, so there aren’t many buzzy books coming out now.

This list continues to lack of diversity on many levels, including being disproportionately by white authors. Some Indie Bestsellers you should know about are Katabasis by R. F. Kuang, The Lion Women of Tehran by Marjan Kamali, Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer, and One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This by Omar El Akkad.

To get these numbers, we look at the New York Times, both Combined Print & E-Book Fiction and Combined Print & E-Book Nonfiction lists; Amazon Charts, both Fiction and Nonfiction; Publishers Weekly; USA Today; and Indie Bestsellers, Fiction and Nonfiction, both Paperback and Hardcover.
