So this is sort of a vent and sort of a plea for advice bc 1. I'm very socially anxious 2. I'm trying to get better at talking through text-based multiplayer games like this, but struggling 3. I find this is a common thing on this game especially.

The thing being that a lot of the time I'll be sitting with my looking to chat flair on, someone will come up to me and say hi, I'll greet them back and there will be silence. I'll compliment their pony or use some kinda icebreaker, they'll say thank you or some other brief acknowledgement and then... silence.

So I'll assume they're also socially anxious or just not interested in the convo and not talk, assuming they'll leave. But a lot of the time they just don't leave!! They sit there for like 10 mins just... not talking. Not even afk either.

I don't get what I'm doing wrong. Can anyone help me out here? I am physically repelled by chats where I have to be the one keeping the convo going and idk how to communicate that without making it awkward.
