There's currently a skin stealing thing going around PonyTown which is called CopyTown. It started on April 10th 2026.
At the time of this post being made, over 18,000 skins (18,061 to be exact) have been stolen and publicly shared with their .ptc files in their Telegram channel. They also have a website.
The randomizer on the website makes skins but uses parts of the stolen skins for it.
People can easily download these .ptc files from the Telegram channel, go to the website, import the file and copy the skin in PonyTown itself since every single thing from your skin is there: colors, outlines, accesories... everything!
You might think it works by clicking on people but no, far from it. It's MUCH worse: "whoevers on ingame that day their pony will automatically be stolen", and it doesn't matter where you are in the game.
I do NOT recommend getting on PonyTown until it's resolved since your skin could be next. Skins are getting stolen from ALL the PonyTown servers, not just one of them.
If you DO want to get on PonyTown, it's at the risk of your skin getting stolen. If you don't want your skin getting stolen but do want to play PonyTown, use skins from the event server OR the default skin the game gives you when you first joined PonyTown by pressing the "new" button in the editor. Neither of those are OC's or sona's people made.
Your OC or sona could be next if you decide to play PonyTown with them. Be careful!
